Why it matters
Why a Facebook Feed mockup matters
A Facebook Feed ad has the most moving parts of any placement - a page name and avatar, primary text that truncates after a few lines, the creative, then a link card with a headline and call-to-action button. A mockup shows the exact ad a scrolling user sees, so no one has to sign off on copy from a spreadsheet.
That matters most at the approval stage. Primary text that reads fine in a doc can run three lines too long and hide the hook behind a "See more" fold; a punchy headline gets clipped by the link card. A mockup surfaces those problems in seconds, so the version you launch is the one everyone already agreed on.
This generator draws neutral Feed chrome - a generic avatar and plain like, comment and share icons - so nothing trademarked ships in your preview. Add your image or video, brand name, primary text, headline and a real Meta call-to-action, and it updates live. Export a PNG when it looks right; nothing leaves your browser.
⚡The one rule for Feed
A 1:1 square displays everywhere but is ideal nowhere. If Feed is the priority, design to 4:5 (1080×1350) - it takes more vertical space and stops the hook from being cropped.
Facebook Feed ad specs at a glance
What the mockup has to match before it becomes a real ad.
| Aspect ratio | 4:5 recommended (accepts 4:5, 1:1, 1.91:1) |
|---|---|
| Recommended size | 1080 x 1350 px |
| Minimum size | 600 x 750 px |
| Files | JPG, PNG, MP4, MOV · 30 MB image · 4 GB video |
| Video length | 1 sec - 241 min |
| Primary text | 125 recommended (truncates on mobile) |
| Headline | 27 recommended (up to 40 shown) |
4:5 is the tallest ratio Feed allows, so it fills the most mobile screen. Anything taller is cropped to 4:5. Carousel cards must be 1:1. The full Facebook Feed spec lists every accepted ratio and file limit.
Common Facebook Feed ad mistakes a mockup catches
- Uploading the 9:16 Stories cut to Feed. Feed takes 4:5, 1:1 or 1.91:1 and crops anything taller to 4:5, so the top and bottom of a vertical frame disappear.
- Hiding the hook after the first line. On mobile the primary text is cut at roughly 125 characters, and everything after that waits behind "See more".
- Writing a headline that only works in full. About 27 characters show on mobile and up to 40 elsewhere, so a long headline gets clipped in the link card.
