The TikTok Ads MCPfor Claude & ChatGPT

Ask how your ad groups did, then tell your assistant what to switch off, rebudget, repoint or copy. It manages what already runs on TikTok, and prepares new ads, Spark ads on your own posts included, for you to launch.

Use cases

What you can ask for on TikTok

Requests your assistant carries out today, and what happens when you send them.

“Switch off every ad group that spent 50 € without a conversion.”

Reads spend, clicks and conversions for the advertiser, its campaigns, ad groups or ads, then switches off what you name. A Smart+ ad switches as a whole.

“Cut the Prospecting budget to 40 € a day.”

Changes campaign and ad group budgets in your currency. A daily budget stays daily, a total budget stays total, and TikTok's minimums are passed on in TikTok's own words.

“Put a 12 € cost cap on Broad 25-44.”

Sets or removes a cost cap, or sets a minimum ROAS. The result is read back from TikTok, because TikTok answers OK to bids it ignores.

“Fix the typo in the UGC Hook caption.”

Changes an ad's caption, up to 100 characters, and confirms it by reading it back. Smart+ ads are refused, and so are Spark Ads, whose caption belongs to the post.

“Copy the UGC Hook ad into the Retargeting ad group.”

Copies a campaign, ad group or ad, always switched off. An ad copy reuses the same video, so nothing is uploaded again. An ad group copy can go into another campaign with a new budget and audience and bring its ads along; a campaign copy is created empty.

“Stage the five new UGC videos into the Spring ad groups.”

Builds the ads from your library videos, images or image carousels with music, with identity, captions, landing page, button and ad names, and stages them as a draft. It opens in the uplads TikTok launcher, filled in; the ads are created switched off unless you turn them on there.

“Make a Spark ad from our newest TikTok post.”

Lists the posts of your own TikTok identities, says which can be boosted now, and stages a Spark ad on the one you pick into an existing ad group. A creator's post needs the creator's code, which you enter in the launcher yourself.

“Set up a traffic campaign for Austria with one ad group at 25 € a day.”

Creates campaigns and ad groups switched off, with goal, budget, locations, languages, pixel and conversion event looked up first. Each ad group is checked against its campaign before anything is sent.

“Send the UGC Hook ad to /spring-sale with a Shop now button.”

Changes the landing page and button of a single-video ad, Spark Ads included. uplads reads the whole ad back and compares every field, and puts the ad back if TikTok moved anything else. TikTok may review the ad again.

What stays with you

Where the assistant stops

Some things stay with you or with the uplads launcher, by design or because TikTok does not allow them.

Pressing Launch, and creator codes

New ads go live when you press Launch in the TikTok launcher. Only a workspace that allowed autonomous launching lets the assistant publish, after your yes. Spark ads on a creator's post need the creator's code, which only you enter.

Smart+ and other formats

Smart+ ads and automated-creative ads keep their caption, landing page and button, carousels keep their landing page and button, and a Spark Ad keeps its caption. Smart+ campaigns get no new ad groups from the assistant. Those stay in TikTok Ads Manager.

Deleting your work

It deletes only what an assistant created or copied, and a campaign or ad group only when everything inside is the assistant's too. Your own work is only ever switched off. Deletion on TikTok is permanent.

Safety

Built so a chat cannot run up your bill

The assistant signs in as you and works under the rules below on every request.

Off and lower without asking

Switching off, lowering a budget and tightening a bid go through at once.

Two keys for more spend

Switching on, raising a budget, a higher cost cap, a lower minimum ROAS or removing a cap need the workspace's autonomous switch and your yes in the chat. A raised daily budget stays under your daily ceiling.

New and copied, switched off

Every campaign, ad group and ad the assistant creates or copies starts switched off.

Read back, not assumed

Bids, captions, landing pages and buttons are checked against what TikTok actually stored, so a silent no from TikTok is reported as a failure.

Scoped to your advertisers

Every id is checked inside the advertiser you name before anything is written. A view-only member cannot change anything.

Every change on record

Each change lands in your uplads audit log, marked as coming from MCP, so you can always see what the assistant did and when.

Connect

Three steps to your first request

You connect TikTok to uplads once. Your assistant then works through that connection.

  1. 01

    Connect TikTok in uplads

Under Configuration → Connections, sign in with TikTok for Business and pick your advertisers. TikTok is part of the Growth and Agency plans.

  2. 02

    Add uplads to your assistant

In Claude or ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors, add a custom connector with https://uplads.com/api/mcp and sign in with your uplads account. Claude Code, Cursor and other clients take the same URL. There is no API key.

  3. 03

    Ask for the numbers first

Start with “Which TikTok advertisers can you see?”, then ask how the ad groups did before you ask for a change.

FAQ

TikTok Ads MCP questions

What is a TikTok Ads MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT use a tool's real functions. The uplads MCP server gives your assistant the TikTok advertisers you connected in uplads: it reads campaigns, ad groups, ads and performance, prepares new ads for you to launch, and manages what runs under your permissions.

Can Claude or ChatGPT create TikTok ads?

Yes, as a draft you launch. Your assistant builds ads from your library videos, images or image carousels with music into existing ad groups, with identity, captions, landing page and button, or a Spark ad on one of your own posts. The draft opens in the uplads TikTok launcher, filled in, and the ads go live when you press Launch. A creator's Spark code it never takes; you enter that in the launcher.

What can it change on TikTok?

It switches campaigns, ad groups and ads on or off, changes campaign and ad group budgets, sets or removes a cost cap or minimum ROAS, renames anything, edits captions of up to 100 characters, changes the landing page and button of single-video ads, copies campaigns, ad groups and ads, and creates new campaigns and ad groups switched off. It also sets up automated rules on the advertiser.

Can it change the landing page or button of a running ad?

Yes, on single-video ads, Spark Ads included. TikTok only takes these through a full rewrite of the ad, so uplads rebuilds it from an exact read, reads the whole ad back and compares every field. If anything else moved, the ad is put back and you are told. Caption, video and conversion tracking stay as they were, and TikTok may review the ad again. Smart+, automated-creative and carousel ads are refused.

Does it work with Smart+ and Spark Ads?

Partly. A Smart+ ad can be switched on or off as a whole and renamed, but its caption, landing page and button stay as they are, copies of it are refused, and so are bid changes on Smart+ ad groups. Spark Ads can be switched, renamed and given a new landing page and button; their caption belongs to the post and stays as it is. A new Spark ad on one of your own posts it stages as a draft.

Will it spend money without asking?

No. Switching off and lowering work any time. Switching on, raising a budget and loosening a bid need your workspace's autonomous switch and your yes in the chat, and a raised daily budget stays under your ceiling.

Does it also work for Meta, Google Ads and Snapchat?

Yes, with the same connection. On each of them it builds paused campaigns, stages new ads for your review and manages what already runs, on Google with keywords and ad texts, on Meta with targeting, creatives and Optimize audits. Each network has its own page, linked below.

Ask how it went. Switch off what didn't.
