How to connect Dropbox to import creatives

Last updated June 10, 2026

Connecting Dropbox lets you pull images and videos straight from your Dropbox into uplads — no downloading to your computer first. Once linked, Dropbox shows up as a source inside the launch wizard, so you can browse folders, search by filename, and import creatives in a few clicks.

Connect Dropbox in Configuration

  1. Open Configuration from the left-hand navigation.
  2. Select the Connections section.
  3. Find the Cloud connections card — it lists Dropbox and Google Drive.
  4. On the Dropbox row, click Connect.
  5. You'll be sent to Dropbox to sign in and authorize uplads. Approve the request, and Dropbox returns you to the Connections page.

When the connection succeeds, the Dropbox row flips from Not connected to Connected, and the Connect button is replaced by a Disconnect button.

Dropbox connections are per user, not shared across the workspace. Each team member who wants to import from Dropbox connects their own account from their own Configuration page. Your teammates won't see — or be able to import from — your Dropbox, and you won't see theirs.

A note on permissions: members without configuration-edit access can't change cloud connections. If the Connect button is missing or the section is read-only for you, you don't have edit permission for Configuration. See Why is configuration greyed out or read-only for me? and Understanding user roles and permissions.

Confirm which Dropbox account is connected

Once connected, the Dropbox row shows Connected followed by the email address of the linked Dropbox account (for example, Connected — you@example.com). Use this to confirm you authorized the right account — handy if you have separate personal and work Dropbox logins.

If the email looks wrong, Disconnect and reconnect with the correct account.

What connecting enables in the launch wizard

With Dropbox linked, the Import from cloud option becomes available in the launch wizard's creatives step. From there you can:

  • Browse folders in a file-manager-style view (folders first, then files, sorted alphabetically).
  • Search by filename across your entire Dropbox.
  • See thumbnails for image and video files where Dropbox can provide them.
  • Import a single file or a whole folder — uplads pulls the files in and stages them for your launch.

The imported creatives are downloaded from Dropbox and stored in uplads just like files you upload from your computer, so they're ready to use across launches. For the step-by-step import flow, see How to import creatives from Dropbox.

Disconnect Dropbox to revoke access

To unlink Dropbox:

  1. Go to Configuration → Connections.
  2. On the connected Dropbox row in the Cloud connections card, click Disconnect.

This removes the stored connection from uplads and revokes the access token with Dropbox, so uplads can no longer read your files. You can reconnect any time by clicking Connect again.
