How to launch ads from files on your computer
This is the most common way to launch with uplads: drag the image and video files you already have on your computer into the Ad Launcher, choose where they should run, add your copy, and create every ad in one go. The launcher is a single screen, so you can keep working on the ad sets and copy while your uploads finish.
Before you start, make sure your Meta account is connected. See How to connect your Meta (Facebook & Instagram) account. For a tour of the screen, read Understanding the Ad Launcher.
Upload creatives from your computer
Open the Ad Launcher, pick your ad account in the top bar, and click Load Media in the Ads panel on the left. The dialog offers your Media Library, Dropbox, Google Drive, and your Facebook and Instagram posts. To launch local files, stay on the Media Library tab (it's selected by default).
- Use the uploader at the top of the tab to add files. Drag and drop them onto the upload area, or click it to open your file picker and select multiple images and videos at once.
- Each file uploads directly from your browser, so large videos don't slow down the rest of the app. As each upload finishes it's selected and, once you confirm, added to the Ads panel as one ad.
- You don't have to wait. Uploads keep running in the background while you pick ad sets and write copy; each one lands in the Ads panel as it finishes.
Already have files in the cloud? Pull them in from the same dialog instead. See How to import creatives from Dropbox and How to import creatives from Google Drive.
Select which creatives to include
Everything you've ever uploaded lives in the Media Library grid below the uploader. Newly uploaded files are selected automatically, but you can fine-tune the selection:
- Click a tile to select or deselect a single creative.
- Shift-click a second tile to select a whole range at once.
- Use the grid's select and search controls to manage larger libraries. See How to select, search and manage creatives in the media library.
Files that belong together by filename (a 9x16, a 4x5 and a 1x1 of the same creative) are grouped into one multi-placement ad in the Ads panel. See multi-placement creative grouping. You need at least one ad in the panel to launch.
Pick a Page, campaign and ad sets
The top bar and the Ad Sets card tell Meta where these ads should run:
- In the top bar, choose the Facebook Page (and optionally an Instagram account) the ads will publish from. uplads remembers your last choice as a default.
- In the Ad Sets card, search by campaign or ad set name or ID.
- Tick one or more ad sets. Your creatives are fanned out across every ad set you tick, so 8 creatives across 3 ad sets becomes 24 ads.
Need somewhere new to put them? Use New Campaign or New Ad Set in the card. See How to create a campaign or ad set during launch, or duplicate an ad set with the same targeting.
Add your copy in Ad Setup
The Ad Setup card is where you write the primary text, headlines, description, web link, and call to action that appear on every ad. See How to write ad copy, URLs and CTAs for the full breakdown, plus How to generate ad copy with AI and How to save and reuse ad copy templates.
Review names and launch
In the Ads panel, check the auto-generated ad names, edit any that need it inline, or click Edit in Table Mode to change many at once. See How to review and edit ad names before launch. Preview shows each ad per placement before anything is created.
The Launch button tells you exactly what's about to happen: Launch 24 Ads for 8 ads in 3 ad sets. Before you click it you can:
- Schedule the launch to create the ads paused now and have uplads flip them live at a date and time you pick (interpreted in your ad account's timezone). See How to set ad status and schedule a launch.
- Save the screen as a draft and come back later.
Click Launch 24 Ads to create every ad. Uploads to Meta, video processing, and ad creation run in the background, and the Ad Launches tab below the launcher shows each creative as it moves from Uploading… to Creating ads… to live.
Confirm your ads went live
When the run finishes you'll see the count of how many succeeded and failed. If anything failed, a Retry failed button reruns just those ads. To check the results:
- Click View launch details to open the full per-ad breakdown. See How to track launch progress and read results.
- Click Open in Meta Ads Manager to jump straight to your new ad sets inside Meta, with them pre-selected.
If your ads don't appear in Meta, check Why don't my launched ads appear in Meta Ads Manager? or Why did my launch fail and how do I fix it?. And don't worry about losing your place: Save keeps the whole screen as a draft, so you can resume a launch any time from the Launch Drafts tab.
