How to launch partnership / Spark ads with a creator's post
Last updated June 10, 2026
Partnership ads (also called Spark ads, or branded content ads) let you put paid spend behind a creator's existing organic post — keeping their handle, caption, comments, and engagement intact. In uplads you don't re-upload the video or rewrite the copy. The creator generates a partnership ad code from their post, shares it with you, and you paste it into the launch wizard. That's it.
This article walks through launching one in the bulk launch wizard. If you're new to the wizard itself, start with Understanding the bulk launch wizard steps.
Before you start
You'll need two things ready:
- A connected Meta account. See How to connect your Meta (Facebook & Instagram) account if you haven't yet.
- A partnership ad code from the creator. The creator generates this from their organic post (Instagram or Facebook) and shares the code string with you. uplads does not create the code — it comes from the creator's side.
Opening the Partnership / Spark tab
Start a new launch and pick your ad account. On the Creatives step (the "Choose a source" screen), you'll see three source tabs:
- Media Library — upload or pick your own creatives
- Existing Ads — relaunch ads already in your account
- Partnership / Spark — promote a creator's post via a code
Click the Partnership / Spark tab.
Pasting the partnership ad code
Inside the tab you'll find a single field labeled Partnership ad code. Paste the code the creator supplied into it.
- Copy the partnership ad code the creator sent you.
- Paste it into the Partnership ad code field.
- The Continue with partnership ad button activates as soon as the field has a value.
The code is trimmed automatically, so stray spaces from a copy-paste won't cause problems — but the field can't be left blank. If it's empty you'll see a "Paste a partnership ad code to continue" hint and the Continue button stays disabled.
Why no creatives or ad copy are needed
This is the whole point of partnership mode: the creator's post is the ad. Because Meta serves the original organic post, uplads doesn't ask you to:
- Upload or select any creatives from your media library, and
- Write headlines, primary text, URLs, or CTAs.
All of that already lives on the creator's post. uplads simply attaches your ad spend to it through the code. This keeps the creator's identity and existing social proof (likes, comments, shares) on the ad — which is exactly what makes partnership and Spark ads perform.
Advancing straight to targeting
Because there's no copy to author, partnership mode skips the Text step entirely. After you click Continue with partnership ad, the wizard jumps straight from Creatives to Targeting.
On the Targeting step you still:
- Pick the Page the ad runs under (a Page is required, just like a normal launch),
- Choose the campaign and ad sets to launch into.
See How to select your Page, campaign and ad sets for that step. You can also create a campaign or ad set inline if you don't have one ready. From there it's the standard flow: review, set status and schedule, and launch.
How partnership mode clears other creative sources
The three source tabs are mutually exclusive — a single launch uses exactly one of them. To prevent an ambiguous mix, switching to Partnership / Spark automatically clears anything you'd selected on the other tabs:
- Any creatives selected in the Media Library are deselected.
- Any Existing Ads you'd picked are cleared.
So if you'd started down the media-library path and then realized you wanted a partnership ad instead, just switch tabs — uplads handles the cleanup. The reverse is also true: switching away from Partnership / Spark clears the pasted code. Your draft remembers which source you chose, so if you save and resume, the wizard reopens on the right tab (see How drafts auto-save and resume your launch).
