How to select, search and manage creatives in the media library

Last updated June 10, 2026

The media library is the grid of creatives you see on step 1 of the launch wizard (/launch?step=creatives). It is also where you pick which files go into your launch. This guide covers everything you can do with those tiles: selecting, searching, previewing, downloading and deleting. If you haven't added any files yet, start with How to upload creatives to the media library.

Selecting and range-selecting tiles

Click any tile to select it. A primary-color ring appears around the tile and a checkmark badge shows in its top-right corner. Click again to deselect.

  • Shift+click to range-select. Click one tile, then Shift+click another, and everything between the two (in grid order) is selected in one move. This is the fastest way to grab a contiguous block of creatives.
  • Select All selects every creative currently shown. Once everything is selected the button flips to Deselect All.
  • Select Un-uploaded selects only creatives that have never been launched yet, so you can skip ones that already have ads. It flips to Deselect Un-uploaded when they are all selected.

As soon as one or more tiles are selected, a floating pill appears at the bottom of the screen showing the count (for example "12 creatives selected") with the bulk actions. The Clear button (or the X) empties your selection.

Reading the badges on each tile

Each tile carries small badges so you can tell creatives apart at a glance:

  • Format — videos are detected from their MIME type and play in the preview; images render as a thumbnail. A loading skeleton with an image or film icon shows while the thumbnail decodes.
  • Placement badge (bottom-left) — shows the detected aspect ratio: 1x1 (square), 4x5 (portrait), 9x16 (vertical) or 16x9 (landscape). Every tile is shown at a uniform 4:5 frame, so this badge — not the card size — tells you the true aspect.
  • Uploaded (green, top-left) — this creative already has at least one ad launched from it.
  • Dropbox / Drive (top-right chip) — the file is linked from cloud storage and not stored by uplads. If you move or delete it in Dropbox or Drive, it will fail at launch time. See How to import creatives from Dropbox.

The filename is shown in full underneath each tile (wrapped to two lines).

Previewing a creative

Thumbnails only show a video's first frame, so use the eye icon in the bottom-left of a tile to open a full-size preview popup. Videos play with native controls (so you can scrub and check audio); images open at full resolution. The popup is capped to your viewport so even 4K assets stay on screen. Clicking the eye never changes your selection. Close the popup to return to the grid.

Searching and loading more

Use the Search creatives box above the grid to filter by filename. Matching is case-insensitive and matches any part of the name. If nothing matches you'll see a "No creatives match" message.

The library loads in pages. When more creatives exist, a Load more button appears below the grid to fetch the next page and append it. Load more is hidden while a search is active, so clear the search box to page through your full library.

Downloading creatives in original quality

Select one or more creatives, then click Download in the floating pill. Files come back in their original quality:

  • One file downloads directly as that single asset.
  • Two or more files are streamed into a single ZIP so you get one save dialog instead of many. Cloud-linked (Dropbox/Drive) creatives are skipped from the ZIP — grab those individually by selecting just one at a time.

Deleting creatives and the missing-file warning

Select the creatives you want to remove and click Delete in the floating pill. This removes them from your library.

If a Dropbox-linked file has been moved or deleted on the Dropbox side, uplads detects this in the background and overlays the tile with a red File missing in Dropbox warning. Missing tiles are dimmed and can't be selected — that prevents a confusing failure later when the worker tries to fetch a file that no longer exists. To fix it, restore the file in Dropbox (or delete the stale entry here and re-import). See How to fix Dropbox and Google Drive import problems.
